Despite not yet accruing any top-flight experience, Stade de Reims’ goalkeeper, Ewen Jaouen (20), is attracting interest from top clubs across Europe, according to a report from Canal Plus.

Jaouen impressed last season while on loan at USL Dunkerque, almost leading the club to promotion from Ligue 2 and also taking the Northern club to the semi-finals of the Coupe de France. He returned to parent club Reims last summer, following Les Stadistes’ relegation from Ligue 1.

He has been the No.1 throughout the season for Reims, however, the club have not managed to return to France’s top-flight at the first time of asking.

It was reported by Sacha Tavolieri last month that Jaouen, a France youth international, had agreed to a move to Newcastle United, with club-to-club talks ongoing.

However, the Tyneside club will face competition. Chelsea are also making a move for the Frenchman, who has visited the club’s facilities, Canal Plus understands. There is also interest from Real Madrid, who are in the market to find Thibaut Courtois’ successor. Reims are demanding a €25m fee for the goalkeeper.
