Newcastle ‘to consider’ Joao Gomes, as Wolves ‘to target’ Adrian Blake | OneFootball

Newcastle United have discussed Wolves midfielder Joao Gomes as a possible target, according to The Athletic.

With Sandro Tonali sold to Tottenham Hotspur for £100 million this summer, and Bruno Guimaraes strongly linked with Arsenal, Gomes has been mentioned in planning meetings at St James' Park, the report said.

Gomes has played 116 Premier League matches for Wolves, scoring seven league goals, since joining from Flamengo in 2023.

Sky Sports News reports Wolves are interested in Utrecht winger Adrian Blake. Burnley and Celtic are also in the frame for the 20-year-old.

The former Watford wide man made three senior appearances in 2022-23. He has since produced nine goals and five assists in 63 games for Utrecht, including four goals and two assists last season. He has one year left on his deal and is valued at around £2.5 million.
