In a recent report, The Telegraph mentioned that Newcastle United are showing interest in Chelsea winger Noni Madueke. It has been claimed that the Magpies would have to rival Arsenal in the race to land the English wide player this summer.

Madueke’s Impressive Form In The Premier League

Madueke had a decent season at the West London club as he produced a handful of impressive displays for them in the Premier League. The 23-year-old featured in 41 matches for Chelsea in the previous campaign, scoring 11 times and earning five assists in various competitions.

The London-born talent deserves some credit for averaging 3.54 shots per 90 minutes in the Premier League. He kept 37.5% of his attempts on target. Madueke was even accurate when distributing possession in the final third based on his pass completion rate of 77.4% in the English top flight (stats via fbref.com).

Madueke’s current contract at Chelsea will expire in the summer of 2030 which could make it tough for Newcastle to snap him up on the cheap this off-season.

What Will Madueke Bring To Newcastle United?

Madueke can use his pace to get the better of his marker in the final third. He can strike the ball with power from long range and has got the eye to play some decisive passes in the opponent’s half.

The English speedster can contribute by scoring his fair share of goals from the wide areas. He mainly functions as a right-winger but can also fill in as a left-sided wide player if told to do so. Madueke knows the Premier League well and won’t take much time to adjust to life at Newcastle.

We can expect him to bring more pace and goals to Eddie Howe’s frontline. He has what it takes to earn a regular first-team spot at the Tyneside club in the coming seasons.

At 23, Madueke has his best years ahead of him which makes him a good option for the Magpies to consider in this summer transfer window. He is well-equipped to make an immediate impact at St. James’ Park and could help Newcastle challenge across all fronts in the future. Thus, the Magpies would be wise to snap him up this summer.
