Gonçalo Ramos’ future at PSG has been up in the air all summer, fueling ongoing transfer speculation around the Portuguese striker. While recent indications point to him possibly staying in Paris, at least one Premier League club is still working to sign him.

Ramos closed out the 2024-25 campaign with 19 goals and six assists in 46 appearances. Even with that production, it’s unclear whether he’ll secure a consistent starting role at PSG, though reports suggest the club would prefer to keep him.

Earlier this month, CaughtOffside noted that Ramos’ limited playing time has drawn interest from several Premier League and Serie A sides eager to add a proven scorer. Newcastle United, Manchester United, Aston Villa, and Liverpool are all said to be exploring potential moves.

Liverpool view Ramos as a long-term option, while Manchester United reportedly consider him more of a backup plan if other striker pursuits fall through. For now, Liverpool’s focus remains on Newcastle’s Alexander Isak, but if that deal doesn’t materialize, Ramos could quickly rise to the top of their list.

Will PSG attacker leave this summer window?

TBR Football reported on Saturday that Ramos isn’t particularly eager to leave PSG this summer, even though intermediaries have offered his name to Newcastle United.

“Newcastle are in the market to find a replacement for Alexander Isak and have done work on the likes of Nicolas Jackson, Jorgen Strand Larsen and Samu Aghehowa,” TBR Football chief correspondent Graeme Bailey said.

“Now Newcastle are again looking towards Ramos, but sources have told TBR Football that a deal for him would be highly unlikely due to a number of reasons.”

Even if Ramos were open to a move, he would likely demand a salary of around £200,000 a week—making him the highest-paid player in the club’s history, though Newcastle could realistically afford it.
