Eddie Howe and his players kicking off at 3pm in their Saturday match at home to Fulham.

This weekend the Premier League fixtures starting on Friday night.

Leeds United at home to West Ham United at 8pm tonight.

Then four Premier League fixtures on Saturday, including Newcastle United hosting Fulham.

Before we get to the remaining five on Sunday.

As a Newcastle United fan, have a look at this weekend’s other Premier League fixtures and have a think about what you’d like to happen and what is likely in terms of results.

Friday 24 October

Leeds v West Ham (8pm)

Saturday 25 October

Chelsea v Sunderland (3pm)

Newcastle v Fulham (3pm)

Man United v Brighton (5.30pm)

Brentford v Liverpool (8pm)

Sunday 26 October

Bournemouth v Nottingham Forest (2pm)

Arsenal v Crystal Palace (2pm)

Aston Villa v Man City (2pm)

Wolves v Burnley (2pm)

Everton v Spurs (4.30pm)

This is how the table looks on Friday afternoon (24 October 2025) before any of the ten Premier League fixtures this weekend are played:

My Conclusions

Friday 24 October

Leeds v West Ham

Leeds have lost their last two but couldn’t have wished for a better chance to get back on track.

West Ham have already gone for an early new manager bounce but under Nuno they have picked up a point against Everton and then lost 2-0 away at Arsenal and then 2-0 at home to Brentford. I watched that game on Monday and the Hammers were shocking, they lost 2-0 but it should have been five or six. West Ham so slow and poor at both ends of the pitch, you have to think Leeds will not miss this opportunity to bounce back. Whilst if West Ham lose, that will make it just one point in their last six PL matches and deep in relegation trouble.

Saturday 25 October

Chelsea v Sunderland

I struggle to want Chelsea to win any match but have to make an exception here.

The Mackems have had a very generous opening schedule of matches and whilst Chelsea are nothing special, no matter how the media go on, I can’t see anything but a home win here.

Newcastle v Fulham

The only game that really matters of course.

With Newcastle United now starting to add goals (15 in the last six matches in all competitions) and still keeping plenty of clean sheets (Nick Pope has seven in his eleven appearances this season), no reason why United can’t make it four wins from their last five games (all competitions) if playing well against Fulham. The visitors having lost their last three Premier League games and with some key injuries, especially in defence.

Man United v Brighton

Whilst it was very amusing to see Liverpool make it four defeats in a row last weekend, if the scousers had taken even a half decent number of the clear chances they created, then it could easily have been a two or three goal winning margin for Liverpool.

Man U battled and somehow saw out the win, so deserve credit for that. However, Gakpo alone saw the woodwork deny him three times.

Brighton on the other hand are a very good team with an excellent manager and are playing generally well this season, as United found out last weekend.

Brighton have won six of their last seven Premier League matches against Man U, home and away, I think they will make it seven from eight on Saturday.

Brentford v Liverpool

Brentford to get relegated and Liverpool to easily win the league, were common themes not so long ago.

However, Keith Andrews is doing a great job and despite losing some big players, Brentford have carried on more or less as they were.

At home in the Premier League they have defeated Villa and Man U, drawn against Chelsea and unlucky to lose 1-0 to Man City. On Monday they battered West Ham away from home, it should have been at least double the 2-0 winning margin.

Liverpool won 5-1 in midweek but it was against a weak Eintracht Frankfurt who had lost last season’s star striker to the scousers. Liverpool had lost their previous four matches and I think this will likely end in a draw.

Bournemouth v Nottingham Forest

I can only see one result here.

Bournemouth were very unlucky to lose their opening PL match late on at Liverpool. In the next seven PL games they are unbeaten.

Forest on the other hand won their opening PL game of the season but then have lost five and drawn two.

Their new new manager, Sean Dyche, got them a win on Thursday night against Porto, but I think it will be back to losing ways for Forest on Sunday, especially with Bournemouth having had a free week to prepare.

Arsenal v Crystal Palace

Palace lost their first match in any competition in almost six months, when losing late on at Everton early this month.

An excellent comeback followed to draw 3-3 at home to Bournemouth, before this midweek’s shock home loss to Larnaca.

Arsenal are looking strong but not always anything special. I think Palace will bounce back to form and get at least a draw.

Aston Villa v Man City

Villa had recovered a bit from early poor form but still looked not really back to previous heights, winning their last three Premier League matches against Fulham, Burnley and Spurs. Last night’s shock defeat to Go Ahead Eagles was a big shock, whilst Man City won in midweek away at Villarreal and are looking a bit of a machine once again, with Haaland in top form. I am definitely thinking a Man City win here.

Wolves v Burnley

Wolves have only picked up two points in eight matches but before losing 2-0 at Sunderland in their last game, previous to that they drew at Spurs and a draw at home to Brighton. In both those draws, Wolves conceded very late on.

Burnley are having a decent go at survival and have picked up seven points from four home games.

However, they have lost all four away PL games and conceded 13 goals in those four away defeats.

I think Wolves will get their first win of the season in the league.

Everton v Spurs

Everton have lost three away games and won at struggling Wolves. However, at home they have won two and drawn two.

Tottenham won three of their opening four PL matches but only one of the last four. Their recent Champions League matches saw them outplayed totally by Monaco and Bodo/Glimt, fluking draws in both matches.

I think both teams will finish mid-table or below and I think a draw is by far the most likely outcome on Sunday.
