Newcastle United are interested in signing AIK Fotboll winger Zadok Yohanna this summer, according to journalist Florian Plettenberg.
Swedish outlet Expressen are also reporting that Newcastle have submitted a bid of €24 million for the ‘Nigerian Neymar‘.
Talks are ongoing between the two clubs, but Brighton and Hove Albion remain in the picture and have already agreed a deal with Yohanna.
However, Newcastle are looking to pip the Seagulls to the attacker, with his ‘blistering pace and dribbling skills‘ qualities they need in attack.
The left-footed right-winger is also on the radar of Rennes and is about to become the most expensive signing in the history of the Swedish top-flight.
Yohanna is an inverted winger who excels at cutting inside to unleash powerful shots, and the Magpies could benefit from his creativity and huge potential if they win the race to sign him.
Tottenham Hotspur, Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund have also been linked with the teenage sensation.
The Newcastle target was called up to the Nigerian squad for the Unity Cup in London, but AIK blocked the move to allow him to focus on his rehabilitation and domestic club duties.
Yohanna has caught the eye of several big clubs across Europe due to his exciting style of play, and he has what it takes to hit the ground running in the Premier League.
He is not quite the finished article, but he could become a top player at Newcastle if the deal goes through.
