McTominay joined Napoli in 2024 for £21 million after he fell out of favour at Old Trafford. The move looked simple at the time, but it turned into a masterstroke. In Naples, the 28-year-old adapted quickly to Serie A’s rhythm and played a vital role in their 2024/25 Scudetto win.

The club’s main focus seems to be on renewing the contracts of Guimaraes and Valentino Livramento, who are vital for their long-term stability. Bringing in McTominay would add more strength, but the question is whether they truly need him right now.
