Neymar drew acclaim in Buenos Aires around Santos’ 1-1 draw with San Lorenzo in the Copa Sudamericana, and he was involved in the move for Gabriel Barbosa’s goal. He was a focus of attention before and after the match.

According to Diario Do Peixe, from the squad’s arrival, fans gathered at the team hotel. Among them was a boy named Neymar Sebastián, named after the No 10, and Santos invited him inside to meet the player before the match.

At the Nuevo Gasómetro, Neymar was a central figure even before kick-off. As the teams walked out, one of the mascots became emotional while accompanying him.

After the final whistle, he was applauded by sections of the home support as he headed for the tunnel. San Lorenzo players waited near the dressing-room access to greet him and record the moment alongside the Santos forward.

A San Lorenzo supporter also entered the pitch to hug Neymar. The forward paused for the fan to approach, then continued towards the dressing room.
