Neymar awaits Ancelotti’s Monday call-up after Corinthians derby | OneFootball

Neymar of Santos is awaiting a Brazil recall as Carlo Ancelotti names his squad on Monday for friendlies against France and Croatia on 26 and 31 this month.

According to Globo.com, this will be the Italian’s final list before his World Cup call-up is confirmed, and Neymar is on the provisional list submitted to FIFA last week.

The Santos No 10 was observed by assistants Mino Fulco and Francesco Mauri, along with Bruno Baquete and goalkeeping coach Cláudio Taffarel, during the Corinthians derby at Vila Belmiro last Sunday.

He said he is working towards a return, that his wish is to rejoin the national team and play at a World Cup, but the choice rests with the coaching staff and, whether selected or not, he will always support the team.

This season he has made four appearances for Santos, scoring two and providing one assist.

He missed part of the start of the campaign after arthroscopic surgery on his left knee late last year, and only made his first outing of the year on 15 February against Velo Clube, in the final round of the Campeonato Paulista’s first phase.
