In heartwarming & unconventional press conference, Neymar Jr was officially reintroduced to Santos FC on Sunday surrounded not by journalists but by his family and close friends posing as reporters.

The event followed Neymar's contract renewal last Tuesday which extends until 31 Dec 2025 with option to continue through to the 2026 FIFA World cup.

"You are my strength" - Neymar in tears

Overcome with emotion at the start of the event Neymar broke down in tears before addressing his loved ones:

"You're my strength. You support me and give me the will to face everything I go through. I’m deeply touched & very happy"

The most surprising moment came when child asked, in English, about the peak of his career. Neymar responded:

"I’ve had several peaks at Santos and at Barcelona but my real footballing prime was at Paris Saint Germain"

"I was unstoppable at PSG"

Neymar who formed legendary trio with Lionel Messi & Luis Suarez at Barcelona and won the Champions league, also led PSG to their 1st ever Champions league final between 2017 & 2020.

Laughing, he recalled:

"I think I was unstoppable in those 4 year at PSG .. Unfortunately injuries slowed me down. But physically and technically, I was at my best"

"I still dream of the World Cup"

At 33, Neymar insisted he's still hungry for success:

"Everyone here knows my dream's to win the World cup. I still feel strong enough to go after it"

Back to business at Santos

While avoiding speculation about the future, Neymar focused on the present:

"I don’t like talking about the future. I want to focus on regaining 100% fitness now"

Despite limited appearances this season just 4 of the first 12 league matches .. Neymar's managed 3 goal and 3 assist in 14 total games since rejoining Santos.
