Neymar decisive in Santos’ 2-0 win over Remo | OneFootball

Neymar proved decisive as Santos beat Remo 2-0 at Vila Belmiro on Thursday in the ninth round of the 2026 Brasileirão. The hosts took the points despite a patchy display.

According to Diario Do Peixe, centre-back Lucas Veríssimo and midfielder Oliva also stood out.

Neymar created the opener with a fine assist, then initiated the move for the second before Escobar supplied the cross for Moisés to finish. That sealed the points.

Veríssimo marshalled the back line, while Luan Peres was errant in possession but held firm in the duels. Goalkeeper Gabriel Brazão parried a dangerous Marcelinho effort into the centre of the box.

Oliva snapped into challenges and kept things simple. William Arão’s introduction helped close spaces in midfield after around 10 minutes, and Gustavo Henrique’s defending was useful even if one error nearly cost a goal.

Neymar misplaced plenty but delivered when it mattered most. Barreal never clicked with team-mates, and Rony ran tirelessly without end product. Thaciano linked the play well in the move for the first goal.

Introduced after the interval, Moisés fashioned two chances as the side improved. Robinho Jr and João Schmidt featured briefly and were not rated. Cuca’s team showed little new compared to Juan Pablo Vojvoda’s matches.
