Neymar converted a penalty, but Santos were beaten 2-1 by Inter at home after a stoppage-time goal. According to Globo.com, the ratings reflected a team short on cohesion.
Zé Ivaldo’s own goal early in the second half put Inter ahead. Substitute Moisés won a clear penalty that Neymar tucked away. Inter snatched victory in added time after Gabriel Brazão parried into the danger area.
Brazão made several important saves, especially before the break, but was unable to prevent the late winner. Zé Ivaldo endured a difficult night and was jeered after the own goal. Escobar struggled and was replaced by Rollheiser soon after half-time.
Rony worked hard yet was ineffective and made way at the interval for Moisés. Willian Arão misplaced passes and left gaps in transition, while Oliva offered little creativity until improving after Arão’s withdrawal. Gabriel Menino added energy without changing the flow.
Neymar’s role lacked clarity, operating too often with his back to goal before improving alongside quicker team-mates. Gabriel provided a focal point up front without being prolific. Head coach Juan Vojvoda’s set-up was criticised, with long spells of inoffensive play and loud boos from the stands.
