N'Golo Kanté nears Fenerbahçe as Al-Ittihad deal runs out in June

Fenerbahçe have stepped up efforts in recent hours to finalise the signing of N'Golo Kanté, who is out of contract in June at Al-Ittihad.

According to L'Équipe, sporting director Devin Ozek is determined to end the club's league title drought dating back to 2014 and has already completed the €30m arrival of Mattéo Guendouzi.

A Turkish delegation has travelled to Saudi Arabia to progress the matter, with talks now under way between Fenerbahçe and Al-Ittihad.

The move could be concluded in the coming days as negotiations develop.

The former Chelsea midfielder, 34, already has a contractual agreement with the Istanbul club, while Al-Ittihad have tabled a renewal offer. He is attracted by the prospect of joining the SüperLig.
