Nicolas Jackson has admitted he’s excited to play Chelsea in the Champions League and sees it as an opportunity to show how much he’s grown.
Jackson eventually completed his move to Bayern Munich on deadline day after a protracted transfer saga, with the move at one point appearing to be off.
In the end Bayern agreed to putting an obligation in the loan deal based on Jackson making a certain number of appearances for them this season.
Jackson revealed he was sad to leave Chelsea, and the Senegal international departs less than a year after signing a two year contract extension, which had tied him down at Stamford Bridge until 2033.
The 24-year-old had fallen down the pecking order following the arrival of both Liam Delap and Joao Pedro, and opted to seek a new challenge outside the Premier League.
Jackson swapped Chelsea for Bayern Munich this summer.
However, Jackson will be reuniting with Chelsea much quicker than we would have expected with the two sides set to face each other in the league phase of the Champions League.
Chelsea’s first match sees them travel to Munich to take on Bayern, and Jackson has stated he’s excited to come up against the Blues.
“This is football, it will be exciting! he told Tutto Sport.
“But once kick-off is blown, I’ll give everything for my Bayern. It’s also a great opportunity to show who I am and how much I’ve grown.”
The Blues named their Champions League squad earlier this week, and despite being under UEFA restrictions they were still able to register the majority of their new signings.

The only one to miss out was Facundo Buonanotte, who joined the Blues on a surprise season long loan from Brighton.
The 20-year-old had said how he was looking forward to playing in the Champions League for the first time, but unless Chelsea add him for the knockout stages that won’t be happening this season.
