On Friday, Corinthians opened the Brasileirão Feminino with a 1-0 win at Atlético Mineiro at Arena MRV in Belo Horizonte. Goalkeeper Nicole Ramos returned to the starting XI after four months out with a finger injury.

According to Meu Timao, her previous start came nearly four months earlier in the 2025 Copa Libertadores final, a 0-0 draw against América de Cali settled 5-3 on penalties.

Ramos excelled in that decider, making key saves before fracturing her little finger. With the finger immobilised and pain medication administered, she stayed on for the shootout and helped secure the title.

Subsequent tests revealed a complete rupture of the central band of the fifth finger’s extensor, and she underwent surgery. She returned in the Supercopa do Brasil final when Lelê was withdrawn under concussion protocol after a head clash, a game Corinthians lost 5-4 on penalties to finish runners-up.

Before the setback, Ramos had displaced Lelê as first choice and was a standout for the Brabas. She has 50 appearances for Corinthians, with 32 wins, 13 draws and five defeats, a 72.67% return.

Her honours with the club include two Brasileirão titles and two Libertadores crowns across 2024 and 2025. Corinthians face Fluminense on Friday 20 at 21:30 at Neo Química Arena in the second round.
