After coming up in the Juventus youth academy and showing fine form under Thiago Motta, Nicolò Savona left for Nottingham Forest this summer.
The 22-year-old wing-back sat down with Gazzetta dello Sport to talk all things Forest and Juventus, with a brief plea to his former teammate down the Bianconeri’s left side.
Speaking of his August move, Savona explained, “Juventus will always be home for me. Right now, however, I’m focused on Nottingham Forest, where I’m having a wonderful experience. I get along well with my teammates, I’m in the city, and I really like the English atmosphere.”
Just how different is the Premier League to Serie A? Savona revealed all. “It’s even more beautiful. There’s a completely different style than in Italy and a special, unique atmosphere. In England, there are less tactics and more intensity. It’s a constant back and forth. Anything can happen at any moment. Serie A remains a difficult and important championship. It’s a great tournament. Last season was crucial for my growth.”
So, what would he say to a young player like Kenan Yildiz about taking the leap? His position is clear. “I would recommend the Premier League to all the kids who love football. It would be difficult to say otherwise. So also to Kenan and any of his teammates.”
