The attacker has been in stunning form for the Canaries this season
Galatasaray will target the signing of Norwich City attacker Borja Sainz in the January transfer window.
That's according to a report from Sabah, who say that the Turkish giants have already decided they will pursue the signing of the 23-year-old at the turn of the year.
Sainz joined the Canaries back in the summer of 2023, signing from another Turkish side, Giresunspor, on a free transfer.
Since making the move to Carrow Road, the winger has scored 20 goals and provided four assists in 55 appearances in all competitions for Norwich.
That includes 12 goals this season alone, many of which have come in the form of spectacular long-range efforts.
It now seems as though that form has attracted attention from back in Turkey, with less than two months to go until the transfer window reopens.
As per this latest update, Galatasaray are now set to make an attempt to sign Sainz in the January transfer market.
It is thought that the Turkish side's hierarchy have already agreed to a pursuit of the Spaniard come the turn of the year.
They are also said to be hopeful that a good relationship with the Championship club will help them to get a deal done.
That is after they signed midfielder Gabriel Sara from Norwich in the summer, following a two-year spell at Carrow Road.
Since making the move to Turkey, Sara has made 15 appearances in all competitions, scoring two goals and providing six assists.
As things stand, there is just over a year-and-a-half remaining on Sainz's contract with Norwich, securing his future with the club until the end of the 2025/26 season.
That will give the Canaries some room to negotiate any offers that do come in for the winger in January.
Johannes Hoff Thorup's side currently sit 12th in the Championship table, having taken 18 points from 14 league games this season.
Norwich are next in action on Saturday afternoon, when they will look to end a run of five games without a win, as Bristol City make the trip to Carrow Road.
For their part, Galatasaray currently sit top of the Turkish top-flight, two points clear of second place Samsunspor, with a game in hand.
They are currently also third in the league phase of the UEFA Europa League, after a 3-2 win at home to Tottenham on Thursday night.
It does feel essential that Norwich do what they can to retain the services of Sainz beyond the January transfer window.
The winger's goals have not only been spectacular, but also vital for Thorup's side so far this season.
His 11 Championship goals since the start of the campaign have earned the club eight points, without which they would be in a troubling position in the table.
As a result, it seems vital that Norwich do not let Sainz go in January, if they are to have a successful season.
However, the chance to compete for silverware, and in European football from the turn of the year, could be appealing for Sainz.
Indeed, the chance to link back up with Sara again, could also make this a tempting move for the winger to make.
With all that in mind, it feels as though Norwich may have something of a battle on their hands in January if they are to keep Sainz at Carrow Road.
