The Canaries took away all three points thanks to a hat-trick from Borja Sainz, with the victory moving them above the Rams in the Championship table.

Johannes Hoff Thorup’s side have won three of their opening seven games, and have 11 points from a possible 21.

The victory moved the Norfolk outfit to 10th in the standings ahead of a big round of midweek action.

Norwich will host Leeds United on Tuesday evening in a 7.45pm kick-off, with the hosts looking to make it three victories in a row.

Here we look at all the latest injury concerns surrounding Norwich ahead of the Whites’ midweek visit to Carrow Road…

Johannes Hoff Thorup issues double Norwich injury concern

Ahead of Tuesday night’s game, Thorup issued a double injury blow for his side with Liam Gibbs and Onel Hernandez’s absences both set to be longer-term than first feared.

The Dane revealed that they might not be available for selection again until December, with both struggling with hamstring issues.

"Not really positive [for Gibbs],” said Thorup, via Pink Un.

“I think we are talking about a return to play in 10 weeks' time.

“It was, unfortunately, what we hoped it wouldn't be.

"It's very unfortunate for him and for us.

“Even though he hasn't been a regular starter, it was the plan [for him to challenge].

“He is a good player and has the capability physically to cover a lot of ground.

“That is how it is and we have to support him in the best way that we can.

"It is the same [for Hernandez].

"We are talking about 10 weeks' time or something like that.

“It didn't seem that serious in the game, and we thought we'd go with low risk after seven minutes on the pitch.

"We could see he was running without full power and went with what we thought was low risk, but now it seems it was very important that we took that decision because it's a longer one for him."

Other Norwich injury updates

Norwich did receive an injury boost in their win over Derby last weekend, with Sheffield United loanee Anis Ben Slimane returning to the squad after recovering from injury.

He came off the bench before the hour mark for Oscar Schwartau to make his second league appearance of the campaign (all stats from Fbref).

However, Jacob Sorensen remains a doubt, with the likes of Ashley Barnes, Tony Springett, and Christian Fassnacht still on the sidelines.

Springett isn’t expected back until December as well with a back injury, while Barnes is absent due to a calf issue.

Fassnacht is a long-term absence and is unlikely to return anytime soon due to an Achilles injury.

On a positive note for Thorup, he has no fresh injury concerns going into their midweek clash at home to Leeds.

Despite that, and given the nature of the quick turnaround between fixtures, he may still feel the need to make changes to his starting lineup.
