Nottingham Forest have added Lorenzo Lucca, record signing Omari Hutchinson and defender Jair Cunha to their Europa League squad, with Luca Netz and Stefen Ortega left out.
According to NY Times, Hutchinson, a £37.5million summer arrival from Ipswich, was a surprise omission from Nuno Espirito Santo’s initial UEFA list. Sean Dyche has now brought him in, along with Lucca, the Italy international forward on loan from Napoli with a €40million option to make the move permanent.
Ortega, a £500,000 signing from Manchester City, has not been registered, which suggests the club hope Matz Sels’ groin issue will not keep him out for long. Scotland international Angus Gunn is the only other senior goalkeeper named.
Netz, a £1.1million left-back from Borussia Monchengladbach, is viewed as a longer-term prospect. Dyche said he is part of a group recruited with the future in mind, though he could feature now.
With Netz omitted, cover on the left will come from Ola Aina and Neco Williams, both right-footed but comfortable on the left, plus Morato and Murillo.
Forest face Fenerbahce in the play-off round as they aim to reach the last 16. They travel to Türkiye on Thursday February 19, with the return at the City Ground the following week.
Beyond List A, clubs can use List B for players born after January 2004, provided they have been registered at the club for two uninterrupted years.
