Everton and Nottingham Forest are said to have enquired about Sunderland striker Wilson Isidor during the January window. The Mirror reports Everton made a check, while Sky Sports says Forest have also been in touch.
The Mirror adds that a check was made by Nick Hammond, with no club-to-club contact yet and Isidor among several options. Sunderland value the forward at £25m and he is admired by David Moyes, with no guarantee the enquiry progresses.
Sky Sports indicates Forest have held off a concrete approach as they weigh other targets. It also notes overseas clubs are monitoring the 25-year-old, calling his situation one to watch late in the window.
Everton are understood to be seeking attacking reinforcements, with Thierno Barry still settling and Beto on two Premier League goals this season.
Isidor is the Black Cats’ joint-top scorer this term with four Premier League goals, although he has not scored since October. Brian Brobbey has recently taken his place in the starting XI.
"I'd like to think we're not in a position where we need to sell, we're not in a position where we need to get rid of players," he said on BBC Radio Newcastle’s Total Sport. "These players are going to draw attention, they've come into the Premier League this year, they've surprised a lot of people, so they're going to attract attention from the bigger clubs."
