Nottingham Forest earned a valuable 0-0 draw with title-chasing Arsenal at the City Ground after a bruising FA Cup exit to Wrexham.
West Ham United’s win over Tottenham Hotspur had trimmed the gap to four points earlier, heightening the stakes before kick-off. According to Nottingham Post, Forest produced a spirited response and several players were rewarded with high marks.
Nicolas Dominguez saw an early effort deflected wide and Callum Hudson-Odoi almost latched on to a fine Murillo pass as the hosts built momentum. Arsenal dominated the ball but Matz Sels was seldom extended, with Gabriel Martinelli rolling an attempt just past the post around the half-hour.
Sels was finally called into action near the hour, first pushing away a Declan Rice strike, then denying Bukayo Saka with a smart header save within minutes.
With 20 minutes left he thwarted Gabriel Jesus from close range. A late VAR check for a possible handball against Ola Aina was waved away and Forest held firm for a point.
Elliot Anderson topped the ratings with 9/10, while Sels and Ibrahim Sangare impressed at 8.5. Aina, Nikola Milenkovic, Murillo and Neco Williams were each given 8, Dominguez 8.5, Hudson-Odoi 7.5, Morgan Gibbs-White 7 and Igor Jesus 6. Dan Ndoye came on in the 76th minute and Omari Hutchinson in the 89th, both rated 7.
