Manchester United’s pursuit of a Premier League defensive gem could influence Ruben Amorim’s plans at his new club.

Keen to effectively implement his 3-4-3 system at AC Milan, the former United head coach has set his sights on a versatile Red Devil.

Earlier this week, The Peoples Person relayed a report claiming that Milan have made Moroccan international Noussair Mazraoui one of their priority targets for the summer window.

AC Milan keen on signing Noussair Mazraoui

Now, according to Italian outlet Sportmediaset, AC Milan are in talks with Noussair Mazraoui’s agent, Rafaela Pimenta.

Mazraoui, who will turn 29 in November, is reportedly appreciated at Milan for his valuable experience and versatility. Ruben Amorim is well aware of the United defender’s qualities.

The Moroccan star was one of his country’s standout players at the World Cup, having been fielded all across the backline. 

The former Bayern Munich man has less than two years left to run on his contract at Old Trafford, but Milan’s pursuit might not be straightforward.

It is understood that Milan have not yet spoken to United, who are thought to be working on bringing in a new full-back.

Talks already started for Neco Williams

Sportmediaset report that United are trying to sign Nottingham Forest’s Neco Williams.

The 6ft tall Welsh star is a lot faster and just as versatile as Mazraoui. Primarily a left-back, Williams played out wide on the right 12 times across all competitions last term.

It is believed that the Red Devils are in negotiations for the 25-year-old, whose arrival would pave the way for Mazraoui’s departure, much to the delight of Amorim and Milan.

A separate report previously suggested that Williams, who came through the ranks at Liverpool, is open to joining United.
