Now made public who Amanda Staveley messaged on Newcastle United WhatsApp – Report | OneFootball

Amanda Staveley has found herself making Newcastle United headlines.

This despite parting company with the club in July 2024.

On this occasion, Amanda Staveley having made headlines due to leaked WhatsApp conversations from over three years ago.

These private conversations in relation to trying to conclude the Newcastle United takeover, which eventually was passed by the Premier League on 7 October 2021.

As my report (see below) four days ago suggested, ‘I think we can all guess who is behind the leaking of these WhatsApp messages, seemingly leaked to cause problems for the current owners of Newcastle United…’

Now it has been made public who these Amanda Staveley WhatsApp conversations were with, that were leaked.

The Mail saying that they understand that it was Justin Barnes she was communicating with, that is Justin Barnes who was/is right hand man to Mike Ashley.

The Mail report saying that of course they don’t know (can’t say) who has now leaked these Amanda Staveley WhatsApp conversations, or why they have been leaked.

Fair to say though that we will pretty much all be pointing at the most likely of all culprits, as I indicated four days ago.

Amanda Staveley said to be ‘angry and disappointed’ that these confidential messages were leaked to a newspaper. Very reprehensible behaviour from ‘whoever’ that person was…

Premier League approval was given to the Newcastle United takeover back in 2021, when Mike Ashley sold the football club to a consortium led by the Saudi Arabia PIF, with the Reuben family and Amanda Staveley also involved.

On 7 October 2021, Mike Ashley finally leaving.

The Newcastle United takeover has now been back in the spotlight in recent days.

With leaked WhatsApp messages involving Amanda Staveley, claimed by some to ‘prove’ Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman ‘controlled the deal’.

I think we can all guess who is behind the leaking of these WhatsApp messages, seemingly leaked to cause problems for the current owners of Newcastle United…

However, it has now been revealed by The Mail,  that the Premier League will not revisit the legality of Newcastle United’s Saudi Arabia PIF led takeover, in light of of these claims about the involvement of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

The Mail say that their information and understanding, is that the Premier League will not revisit the Newcastle United takeover.

The Mail stating:

‘They were aware of interactions at government level at the time, but this did not influence their thinking or decision-making in the process of their Owners’ and Directors’ Test, carried out by the Premier League Board.
