Real Madrid have been well-represented in the Euros this summer, with many of Los Blancos’ stars extending their dominant domestic form to the international stage.

One of the major standout performers thus far has proven to be Jude Bellingham. The midfielder has been a ray of light for the England national team, as he has bailed them out with his goals a couple of times already.

On the very first matchday of the tournament, Bellingham won the man-of-the-match award for scoring England’s only goal against Serbia.

But the moment that took the case was his equalizing bicycle kick against Slovakia in the dying embers of the game.

Bellingham’s stunning overhead kick allowed the Three Lions to take the game to extra time and ultimately seal victory.

Bellingham has been a cut above his peers

Despite his influential moments, the Englishman has faced criticism for occasionally seeming absent and only making fleeting appearances.

He has been accused of being minimally involved and neglecting his responsibilities as a true midfielder.

However, delving deeper into Bellingham’s statistics allows a fairer picture to be painted and showcases that he is more than just a goalscorer. Compared to his teammates, Bellingham’s statistics speak volumes.

The 21-year-old has scored the joint-most number of goals for England at the Euros (2) and, in fact, has as many major tournament goals as legends like Frank Lampard, Paul Scholes and David Beckham (3).

With 22 touches in the opposition box, he is a frequent threat inside the final third and a constant headache for defenders.

He has the most take-ons completed (10) and the most fouls won (4) by any England player as well, which is a testament to his ability to regularly take men on and create danger through himself.

Moreover, Bellingham has shown various instances of his relentless spirit out of possession by pressing his guts out. The numbers only back that claim up.

Indeed, Bellingham has the most possession won in the final third (4), showing how much of an asset he is off the ball.

Finally, the 21-year-old also boasts the most through balls (2) and joint most goals (2) for England.

Tomorrow, Bellingham will lock horns against Switzerland and aspire to leave an impact once more.
