Arsenal welcomed Brighton and Hove Albion at the Emirates Stadium earlier tonight as they looked to secure a good result at home in the EFL Cup. The Gunners made a good start to the game but were held to a scoreless draw at the half-time interval.

Ethan Nwaneri finally broke the deadlock for the North London club in the 57th minute. Bukayo Saka came off the bench and doubled Arsenal’s advantage in the 76th minute as Mikel Arteta’s players ended up securing a solid 2-0 win at the Emirates.

Let’s take a look at how each Arsenal player fared during the clash against the Seagulls.

He made his fair share of saves at the back and would be quite happy with the clean sheet.

RB: Ben White – 7/10

White was solid at the right-back position and was strong in the air as well.

CB: Piero Hincapie – 7.5/10

He gave a good account of himself on the defensive end of the pitch.

CB: Cristhian Mosquera – 7/10

Mosquera performed his defensive duties well and did enough to keep a clean sheet.

LB: Myles Lewis-Skelly – 7.5/10

He was a positive influence at both ends of the field and has got an assist to show for his efforts.

CM: Christian Norgaard – 7/10

Norgaard anchored the midfield well and made one good run with the ball.

CM: Mikel Merino – 7/10

He managed to shine at times on both halves.

CM: Ethan Nwaneri – 8/10

Nwaneri was a constant menace in the final third and gave Arsenal the lead in the 57th minute.

RW: Max Dowman – 7/10

He made a few dangerous runs with the ball, but there was no goal for him.

ST: Andre Harriman-Anr – 7/10

Harriman-Anr managed to catch the eye at times up top and was replaced in the 76th minute.

LW: Eberechi Eze – 6.5/10

He made one good chance in the final third but never looked like he would score.
