“AS Roma are delighted to announce the signing of Leon Bailey from Aston Villa. The winger joins the club on loan with an option to buy,” Romsa said.
“Bailey is the first Jamaican footballer in AS Roma history. Born in Kingston, he moved to Europe at the age of 13 and has played professionally for Genk, Bayer Leverkusen and Aston Villa.
“The 28-year-old has made 377 appearances in domestic and international league competitions, racking up 76 goals.
“Bailey has chosen to wear the number 31 shirt.
“Welcome to Roma, Leon!”

Several Roma fans greeted Bailey on Tuesday upon arriving at Fiumicino Airport to complete his medical tests with the Serie A side.
Bailey is Roma’s sixth summer signing after Daniele Ghilardi, Evan Ferguson, Neil El Aynaoui, Devis Vasquez and Wesley.
The Giallorossi remain interested in Manchester United outcast Jadon Sancho as well and Football Italia understands that Bailey’s move could help the Giallorossi in negotiations with the English winger, a very close friend of Bailey.

Bailey scored two goals and provided four assists in 38 appearances across all competitions with Aston Villa in 2024-25.
A former Bayer Leverkusen winger, the Jamaica international scored 39 goals and provided 25 assists in 156 appearances with the Bundesliga club before completing a €32m move to Aston Villa in 2021.
