Barcelona icon Andrés Iniesta has early this week secured his maiden job as a first-team manager.
This comes amid confirmation that the Spaniard has taken up the reins at Gulf United FC, in the 2nd tier of the United Arab Emirates.
Iniesta has long been working on his credentials as a head coach in the making, securing his FIFA badges with a view to following in the footsteps of the likes of Xavi Hernández and Cesc Fàbregas before him.
Ex-midfield partner Xavi kicked his managerial career into gear in the Middle East, in Qatar.
And as alluded to above, on Monday, Iniesta has done the same, in agreeing to the terms of a contract with Emirati outfit Gulf United.
The 42-year-old will take his place on the touchline in the city of Dubai, whilst simultaneously working to obtain his Pro Licence.
He will now kickstart efforts towards guiding Gulf United to the top division of football in the UAE.
