Official: Elche secure deal for Lionel Messi’s Inter Miami teammate | OneFootball

La Liga newcomers Elche have this week struck a deal for an altogether head-turning addition to the club’s midfield ranks.

The player to have put pen to paper on terms with Los Franjiverdes? Federico Redondo.

The name of Redondo will likely be a familiar one to long-term followers of Spanish football. This comes with the 22-year-old’s father, Fernando, having spent six years on the books of Real Madrid.

Federico, meanwhile, for his part spent the last 18 months lining out alongside a number of ex-Barcelona stars, after linking up with Lionel Messi’s Inter Miami.

This week, though, the Argentine has followed in the footsteps of his father, in taking his talents to Spain.

As per a statement across the website and social media platforms of the aforementioned Elche:

‘Elche Club de Fútbol and Inter Miami have reached an agreement for the transfer of Federico Redondo, who becomes a new Franjiverde player and signs a contract until June 2030.’
