The Bundesliga match between Hamburger SV and Bayer 04 Leverkusen was called off only a couple of hours before kickoff. The Volksparkstadion has been closed due to weather-related structural risks affecting the stadium roof.
It’s the third incident of a Bundesliga match getting called off after a couple of matchday 16 fixtures are now scheduled to be played on January 27th. A decision for the rescheduled date is expected to be communicated in the coming days.

Since Leverkusen will play their last league phase game of the Champions League campaign on January 28th, the DFL should find a separate date for this fixture. Both teams started 2026 with defeats on matchday 16.
