FC Metz have confirmed that forward Ibou Sané (20) has been loaned to Amiens SC for the remainder of the season, after signing a contract extension tying him to the Ligue 1 club until June 2028.
Sané, who joined Metz in 2003 as part of their successful partnership with the Senegalese club Génération Foot, has made 16 Ligue 1 appearances for les Grenats this season, scoring once and making two assists (both in a nine-minute cameo which secured a shock 2-0 win over high-fliers RC Lens).
Amiens, who currently sit in a lowly 16th place, will hope to benefit from Sané’s versatility – he can play across the front line – as well as his Ligue 2 experience, having participated in 22 matches for Metz in the second tier last season.
Sané has won two Senegal caps at U20 level, both during the 2023 Cup of Nations, which Senegal went on to win.
