Kaizer Chiefs have wrapped up the signing of promising midfielder Xhosa Manyana on a six-month loan from Cape Town City.

The 20-year-old, who rose through the Citizens' youth ranks, spent last season with FC Cincinnati 2 in MLS Next Pro—the third tier of American football—on loan.

Manyana had yet to make an appearance for City in the Motsepe Foundation Championship after returning from his US stint.

He is set to feature for Chiefs' DStv Diski Challenge (DDC) side as the Soweto giants look to defend their title, but could also stake a claim for a spot in the senior squad.

“We felt the need to strengthen our DDC squad for the latter part of the season, and we’re excited to bring in a player like Xhosa to add to the talent already in our reserve setup,” said Sporting Director Kaizer Motaung Jr to the club’s media department.

"We welcome Xhosa to Kaizer Chiefs and look forward to seeing him showcase his undeniable talent."

Chiefs are currently fifth on the reserve league log, having secured 26 points from 14 matches after a commanding win over Mamelodi Sundowns this past weekend.
