Lamine Yamal received the Aldo Rovira Memorial award earlier today, recognising him as Barcelona’s best player of the 2024=25 campaign.
In the 16th edition of the award, Barcelona’s No. 10 repeated the achievement he first earned after the 2023-24 season.
Last year, he was chosen as the standout performer in the Blaugrana men’s team, and has repeated the feat again. Meanwhile, fellow academy graduate Claudia Pina was honoured in the women’s category.
Lamine was one of the key figures behind Barcelona’s domestic treble last season as they won La Liga, Copa del Rey and the Spanish Super Cup under the guidance of Hansi Flick.
His influence went beyond flair and technical brilliance. The numbers backed it up: 18 goals and 25 assists over the season, figures that cemented his status as one of the most influential young players in world football.
It had earned him the second place in the 2025 Ballon d’Or race, and now, he has landed the club’s Aldo Rovira memorial award.
The award was created by former Barcelona director Josep Lluis Rovira in memory of his son Aldo, who passed away in a traffic accident in 2009 at the age of 37.
Over the years, some of the club’s biggest names have received the honour. Lionel Messi won it six times, while other recipients include Eric Abidal, Javier Mascherano, Luis Suarez, Gerard Piqué, Pedri, Gavi and, twice, Marc-André ter Stegen.
Now, Lamine Yamal adds his name once again to that list, and at just 18, he is already building a legacy.
