Official: Real Betis sign Villarreal star | OneFootball

Real Betis have early this week announced a completed transfer agreement with La Liga rivals Villarreal. This comes in the form of confirmation that goalkeeper Diego Conde’s long-anticipated move to Andalusia has been made official.

Shot-stopper Conde has for his part seen his name dominate the transfer chatter at Real Betis for several weeks now.

After the brass in Seville set out to source a replacement for Pau López, the 27-year-old was quickly identified as the ideal profile for Manuel Pellegrini’s squad.

Talks, in turn, were kickstarted between the respective boards at Betis and Villarreal. And as alluded to above, on Monday, these discussions have officially borne fruit in the form of a season-long loan transfer.

As per a statement across Betis’ website and social media platforms:

‘Real Betis Balompié and Villarreal CF have reached an agreement for the loan of Diego Conde with an option to buy.’
