Official: Real Madrid name XI to face Atlético | OneFootball

The group of players selected by Real Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti to get the better of city rivals Atlético on Wednesday evening has been unveiled online.

And it should come as little surprise to hear of Los Blancos’ headmaster opting for an altogether strong XI.

Real are of course primed to return to action in short order, in a Madrid Derby showdown with Diego Simeone’s Atlético in the Champions League’s Last-16.

Los Merengues are currently in possession of a slender advantage, owing to a 2-1 victory at the Santiago Bernabéu in last week’s first leg.

And as alluded to above, a short time ago, the team of players set to be depended upon by Carlo Ancelotti and his coaching staff to finish the job at the Metropolitano was revealed.

Stepping back in after resting over the weekend are a number of players, from Thibaut Courtois to Federico Valverde and Ferland Mendy.

Luka Modrić, meanwhile, gets the nod over Eduardo Camavinga, with Jude Bellingham back following his recent suspension, too.
