Real Madrid are all set to take on AS Monaco in the UEFA Champions League at the Santiago Bernabeu in a little over an hour.
Ahead of kickoff, which will mark Alvaro Arbeloa’s managerial debut in the competition, the new Real Madrid head coach has announced the starting lineup that will take the field against the Ligue 1 outfit.
There are some changes made to the lineup that started in the weekend La Liga game against Levante.
Arda Guler comes into the team after impressing with his second-half cameo on Saturday. He partners Jude Bellingham and Aurelien Tchouameni in the centre of the park.
Guler’s entry forces Eduardo Camavinga to slot in at left-back, where Alvaro Carreras was unavailable due to suspension. Instead of going with Fran Garcia, Arbeloa has opted to field the Frenchman as a makeshift left-back.
Meanwhile, Federico Valverde continues as a makeshift right-back for Real Madrid, with Dean Huijsen and Raul Asencio lining up at centre-back. Thibaut Courtois starts in goal as usual.
In attack, Franco Mastantuono starts on the right flank, with Gonzalo Garcia making way. Kylian Mbappe and Vinicius Jr. hold on to their places in the team.
