Official: Tiago Ferreira returns to FC Porto after 12 years | OneFootball

It is now official. Tiago Ferreira has rejoined Porto 12 years after leaving, returning at 32 to add experience to the club’s secondary side in II Liga.

The centre-back and former Portugal youth international has signed a two-year contract with an option for a further year. The terms were first reported by O Jogo on Tuesday in its online edition.

Ferreira came through Porto’s academy and left in 2014 as a promising prospect, without making a first-team appearance.

He went on to play for Zulte Waregem in Belgium, União da Madeira, Universitatea Craiova in Romania, MTK in Hungary, Tractor in Iran and Kukesi in Albania.

Since returning to Portugal in 2023 he has featured in II Liga for Trofense, União de Leiria and Paços. He made 32 appearances for Paços last season, though the club were relegated to Liga 3.
