FC Bayern officially announces: A new goalkeeper is joining the German record champions on loan.

FC Bayern has presented its latest addition to its youth academy. Goalkeeper Jae-Won Heo is joining the academy on a six-month loan from South Korean first-division club Jeju SK and will play for the record champions’ U19 team.

FC Bayern continues to expand its international Red & Gold network. As the record champions officially announced on Friday, South Korean youth goalkeeper Jae-Won Heo will join on a six-month loan from Jeju SK. The 18-year-old will join the U19 goalkeeping squad effective immediately.

Jeju SK has been an official partner club of FC Bayern in the international Red&Gold network since September 2025. Interestingly, the two clubs will face off as early as Tuesday as part of the Audi Summer Tour, when the German record champions visit South Korea.

Wiesinger praises the new signing

Michael Wiesinger, Head of Sports and Youth Development at FC Bayern, is looking forward to the young goalkeeper: “Jae-Won is an exciting goalkeeping prospect from our Red&Gold partner club, Jeju SK. He came to the campus for a tryout in January, where he made a positive impression. He subsequently confirmed that impression with our World Squad. He’s now joining us for half a year, and we’re very excited to see how he develops here with our U19 team.”

Heo joined Jeju SK’s youth academy back in 2021 and has made seven appearances for South Korea’s junior national teams to date. He also made a name for himself at this year’s World Squad Class of ’26 and was in the starting lineup for the final match against FC Bayern’s U19 team, among other appearances.

Standing 1.95 meters tall, the South Korean will be one of the tallest young goalkeepers at the FC Bayern Campus. Over the next six months, Heo will now have the opportunity to continue his development in the youth system of Germany’s record-holding champions and gain valuable experience.
