OL Lyonnes unveil recruits at open session as Ponsot hails more balanced squad | OneFootball

OL Lyonnes opened pre-season to the public on Friday, presenting their summer recruits and outlining the months ahead.

According to Le Progres, most of the squad and staff returned in front of fans and media after a quiet restart earlier in the week. Light rain gave way to sticky late July heat as photos and autographs flowed.

Players were split into three groups, with the first featuring the four signings, Grohs, Weir, Kaneryd and Paralluelo. Training centred on tight-space work in front of nearly 300 spectators.

A prolonged meet and greet followed, with Selma Bacha especially sought after, before the newcomers faced the press. Coach Jonatan Giráldez, alongside director general Vincent Ponsot, said recruitment targeted players able to cover several positions and added cutting edge in front of goal.

Ponsot added that the squad looks more complete than last season, with a healthier blend of experienced mainstays, external additions and Academy talent. He voiced strong belief in the campaign ahead but stopped short of naming the Champions League as the ultimate aim. The objective remains to win every trophy.
