It’s no secret that Borussia Dortmund hold an interest in Hertha Berlin midfielder Kennet Eichhorn, who is regarded as one of Germany’s hottest talents. Speaking to media, BVB sporting director Ole Book discussed their interest in the teenager.

“I do think he has a certain creativity,” Book told Ruhr Nachrichten. “We know him well, we like him. Like probably many other clubs, we like the player. We’ll see about everything else.”

Both Bayer Leverkusen and RB Leipzig also hold an interest in Eichhorn, who has a reported release clause between €10m and €12m. Additionally, Sky Germany report that Manchester City could sign the player and loan him to Leverkusen, having maintained a good relationship following the loans of Farid Alfa-Ruprecht and Claudio Echeverri, even though the latter’s move didn’t work out.

Who is Kennet Eichhorn?

Awarded his 2. Bundesliga debut by Stefan Leitl at 16 years and 14 days in August 2025, Eichhorn has played 15 times for Hertha Berlin in Germany’s second division, picking up seven yellow cards in 999 minutes of football.

Valued at €20m on Transfermarkt, the defensive midfielder has also attracted attention from Europe’s elite clubs: Real Madrid, Manchester United, Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain and Arsenal, among others.
