Ole Werner backs Max Finkgräfe to replace suspended David Raum against Wolfsburg | OneFootball

Ole Werner will hand Max Finkgräfe a start at left back for RB Leipzig against Wolfsburg on Sunday, with captain David Raum suspended, according to BuLi News.

The 21-year-old has played just 46 minutes across five outings since arriving from 1. FC Köln last summer, and has yet to start.

Speaking on Friday, Werner said Raum is a leader and one of Leipzig’s key performers, adding that his energy and set-piece delivery have been central this season.

He stressed that Finkgräfe has progressed steadily in training, gives full commitment, and is a valuable squad member the staff fully trust.

Werner views the situation as unfortunate for Raum but is pleased Finkgräfe now gets his chance, and he is convinced the youngster can perform. Kick-off at Red Bull Arena is at 17:30 CET on Sunday.
