Oliver Kahn hailed Michael Olise’s rise towards the Ballon d'Or, saying, "When you see his performances in recent weeks, Michael Olise is clearly on the way to the Ballon d'Or," he told Sky Sport Deutschland on Thursday.
Olise, the 24-year-old French winger, was outstanding for Bayern Munich against Real Madrid in the Champions League quarter-final. The tie read 2-1, then 4-3 on Wednesday. He scored Bayern’s final goal in the return and was named man of the match.

Kahn considers Olise among the contenders for the 2026 Ballon d'Or.
The Bayern legend made 632 appearances for the club and finished third in the Ballon d'Or in 2001 and 2002. Now 56, he also won 86 caps for Germany.
This season Olise has 18 goals and 25 assists in 43 games for Bayern in all competitions.
