Olivier Giroud has indicated he could work as a TV pundit during the 2026 World Cup, with M6 targeting him for months for a short-term role.
"We will see, it is possible I do a few group matches... That will also depend on whether I carry on or not." he told RMC after Rennes’ 1-2 defeat to Lille on Sunday night.
Out of contract at Lille at the end of the season, the 2018 World Cup winner will turn 40 in September and kept his future open in the same interview: "As long as you can play and the conditions are right, you have to make the most of it. Now we will see if the body follows. We will see. Nothing is done. Everything has to be in place, everyone confident, and the club must have needs."
He also said there is no extension option in the deal he signed with Lille last summer: "I signed a straight one-year."
The 2026 World Cup runs from 11 June to 19 July.
