Olympique de Marseille unveiled a new club crest on Wednesday, a cleaner roundel in a darker blue that will appear on men’s and women’s shirts from next season.

Le Progres reports that it is the 12th badge in the club’s history, presented as a link between tradition and the future.

Interim president Alban Juster said the redesign followed almost 24 months of work and marked an important moment, noting the current emblem dates back to 2004.

The new look is simpler than the previous version, with an M enclosed by a double ring forming the O, and a darker Marseille blue replacing the old sky blue.

The launch in Marseille was attended by the entire first-team squad, head coach Habib Beye and former stalwarts including Basile Boli and Mamadou Niang.

Juster added that the last logo served for more than 20 years, and that the new one will evolve through collections and results, shaping its own story. He stepped in after Pablo Longoria’s departure, who had initiated the logo review.

Managing director Alessandro Antonello said the refresh was overdue after 22 years, arguing the digital age demands a design suited to screens and future challenges.
