An insight into the financial demands laid out by Real Madrid star Vinícius Jr. to commit to a new contract with the club has on Monday been provided.

This comes amid confirmation that the Brazilian is seeking a historic financial package from those in the boardroom at the Bernabéu.

The subject of Vinícius’ future has of course returned to the forefront of the headlines in Spain’s capital across the day to date.

As much comes amid the understanding that the winger recently informed Florentino Pérez and co. that he does not intend to renew, so long as his relationship with manager Xabi Alonso remains strained.

Even prior to making this stance known, though, Vinícius had already raised eyebrows with his wage demands.

As per a report from the reliable Mario Cortegana of The Athletic, citing sources close to Real Madrid:

‘Vinicius Jr’s representatives requested a historic contract, in the region of the highest ever at the club (which was given to Cristiano Ronaldo), with a package of up to €30 million per season.’

This request came after Los Merengues had offered a more modest improvement, from €18 million to €20 million-per-year.
