Wigan Athletic will have been surprised to see Victor Moses playing as a wing-back for Chelsea
Victor Moses is one of football's journeymen and has plied his trade for Premier League giants such as Liverpool and Chelsea, while he also represented the likes of West Ham United and Wigan Athletic in the top flight of the English game.
But the versatile Nigeria international is known far beyond the UK's shores as he has enjoyed stints with Serie A behemoths Inter, 19-time Turkish champions Fenerbahce and Russian outfit Spartak Moscow.
The current Luton Town man's footballing journey began with Crystal Palace, as he came through their youth academy ranks before going on to represent the Eagles at senior level in the Championship.
His Premier League career was subsequently born in January 2010, when he moved from London to the North West, where he agreed terms with Wigan.
Moses spent two-and-a-half seasons with the Latics and established himself as a fan favourite at the Brick Community Stadium before he joined then fellow top-flight outfit Chelsea during the summer of 2012.
Moses is one of several players who the Latics faithful will always associate with the club's unforgettable eight-year stint in the Premier League.
His best season in blue and white stripes arrived during the 2011/12 season in which he notched six goals and five assists in 38 top-flight outings, which helped Roberto Martinez's side avoid relegation to the Championship.
Interestingly, Moses made just one appearance for the Latics during the 2012/13 campaign, which actually came against Chelsea before he joined the Stamford Bridge outfit.
Throughout his time as a Wigan player, the Nigeria international proved himself as a skilful winger and striker, while his first season in West London was largely successful.
During his first season with the Blues, Moses notched 10 goals and two assists in 43 appearances across all competitions.
Most memorably, he helped the Premier League giants on their way to lifting the 2013 Europa League title by scoring four goals in six appearances.
But during Jose Mourinho's second tenure at Stamford Bridge, the Nigeria international fell down the Chelsea pecking order and endured successive loan spells with Liverpool, Stoke City and West Ham.
However, Antonio Conte's Blues arrival ahead of the 2016/17 Premier League season breathed a new lease of life into Moses' career, and also guided the West London side all the way to the top-flight title.
Famously, Conte utilised the former Latics man as a right wing-back that year and he proved himself a key member of a Premier League title-winning side.
Such a development would have surprised all those associated with Wigan, though, given the fact that he played as a wideman or striker for the North West club, even when legendary boss Martinez utilised a wing-back system.
During the 2011/12 season, the Latics pulled off one of the greatest escapes the Premier League has ever witnessed as they won seven of their last nine games to avoid relegation to the Championship, including legendary victories over Arsenal and Manchester United, as well as a 4-0 triumph over Newcastle United.
Moses had an overall successful campaign that year, as he made 11 goal contributions in the Premier League, but his performances proved most vital during that pivotal end-of-season run.
He scored a brace during the aforementioned win over Newcastle, while he also found the target in the 93rd minute of a 2-0 triumph over Stoke in March 2012, thus securing a vital three points for the Latics.
Moses has etched himself into both Wigan and Chelsea's history books for different reasons, as he helped the Latics retain their top-flight status before going on to win a Premier League title with the Blues.
But most intriguingly, he was one of the North West side's best attacking assets, whereas he proved himself as a key defensive component at Stamford Bridge.
