Nico O’Reilly says the Etihad crowd were in fine voice, with the support of the fans a key factor in City’s 2-1 win over Arsenal on Sunday afternoon.
Rayan Cherki gave Pep Guardiola’s side the lead before Kai Havertz drew the Gunners level a couple minutes later.
Erling Haaland’s second half strike proved the decisive factor that saw City move three points behind league-leaders Arsenal with one game in hand.
In what was another difficult match-up against Mikel Arteta’s outfit, O’Reilly expressed gratitude to the fans for helping motivate the team to a vital victory in the race for the Premier League title.
“The fans were amazing, they got behind us throughout the whole game,” said the England international.
“And it lifted us and gave us a lot of spirit, and we got the job done.”
City have just six top-flight fixtures left before the curtain falls on what has been a thrilling 2025/26 which has also already seen our Blues lift the Carabao Cup.
Positive results against Burnley, Crystal Palace, Everton, Brentford, Bournemouth and Aston Villa could see City add another trophy lift in the Premier League title.
But in order to do that, City will need to be fully focused on ourselves over the course of the next five weeks.
“We just need to focus on ourselves; we need to approach every game going in to win,” began O’Reilly.
“We’re still not top of the league, so I think we need to keep going 100% and then we’ll see.
“Everyone knows how tight it is now; I think it [the result] means a lot. We’re hungry for it, we want it, we just need to keep going and stay focused.

“We’re in a title race where there’s a lot of pressure, I’m just embracing it all and enjoying every moment, trying to do whatever I can to help this team out.
“There’s not much thinking to do, we’ve got go out there and put 100% effort in every game.”
Starting with Burnley. “[It’s a] Massive game,” continued O’Reilly.
“All the games for the rest of the season are massive games and we need to go and win them.
“Put in good performances, score goals and we’ll see how it goes. We need to go into Wednesday, like we did today, the same mindset.”
