Orlando Pride defeats LD Alajuelense in W Champions Cup debut

ORLANDO, Fla. – The 2025/26 Concacaf W Champions Cup continued with Orlando Pride earning a 3-nil win against Liga Deportiva Alajuelense in Group A on Tuesday at Inter&Co Stadium in Orlando, Florida, USA.
The NWSL champions secured their first-ever win in their club’s W Champions Cup debut.
After a goalless first half, the Pride took control of the game when Julie Doyle sent the ball into the back of the net with a right-footed touch in the 49’.
Carson Pickett, who assisted the first goal, scored the second of the night with a banger from outside the box in the 64’.
Simone Jackson wrapped up the victory in the 81’ with a strike to the center of the net.
Goalkeeper McKinley Crone earned the club’s first clean sheet in the tournament.
The Orlando Pride will continue its campaign on September 16 when it travels to Chorrillo FC.
LD Alajuelense will continue in search of its first win in the 2025/26 edition on October 1 when the club visits Mexican champions CF Pachuca Femenil.
