Ousmane Dembele is an injury doubt for the second leg of Paris Saint-Germain’s Champions League semi-final tie against Arsenal.

The French international proved an early match-winner for PSG in Tuesday night’s initial meeting in north London, making a surging run from midfield before coolly dispatching Khvicha Kvaratskhelia’s return pass with a low first-time finish that swept past goalkeeper David Raya and went in off the post with only four minutes on the clock.

Arsenal struggled to cope with the threat posed by Dembele, who took his tally for a hugely impressive season to 33 goals in just 45 appearances across all competitions.

However, the former Barcelona and Borussia Dortmund forward was replaced by compatriot Bradley Barcola with 20 minutes remaining at the Emirates Stadium, with it subsequently emerging that substitution was due to injury rather than any tactical decision.

Reports that Dembele had hurt his hamstring were quickly confirmed by PSG boss Luis Enrique, who admitted that his top scorer was in danger of missing next Wednesday’s second-leg decider against Arsenal at the Parc des Princes.

“He'll undergo tests tomorrow,” said the Spaniard, who was unsure as to the exact nature of the issue. “It's not serious, it's something very minor, but he's probably a doubt for the second leg.”

Though Enrique hopes that Dembele can still be involved next week, he insists that PSG will remain strong without him as they look to finish the job against Arsenal and continue their latest quest for a first-ever Champions League trophy, having fallen at the semi-final hurdle last season.

"We're going to try to get Dembele back on the pitch,” he said. “But we're a real team. If Ousmane can play, that's better. But if he doesn't, we'll still be a real team. We've been saying that since the start of the season."

On his side’s performance in the first leg, Enrique said: “There was an incredible atmosphere inside the stadium, it was deafening, but we got off to a wonderful start and the early goal gave us a boost of confidence.

"It is mission accomplished for this evening. But our objective is to win the second leg at home. With Arsenal we cannot let our guard down or be complacent because they can score quickly and we are back to square one.

"Nothing is in the bag. We need to win when we are at home because Arsenal now have nothing to lose."
