Paixao, Gouiri, Aguerd among six OM absentees for Nice visit

Marseille will be without six regulars, including Brazilian Igor Paixao, for the visit of Nice on Sunday at 20:45, the final fixture of matchday 31. It adds to Habib Beye’s difficulties.

According to L'Équipe, defenders Nayef Aguerd and CJ Egan-Riley, midfielders Geoffrey Kondogbia and Bilal Nadir, and forwards Amine Gouiri and Igor Paixao are all out.

Paixao has been used at wing-back in recent weeks and was arguably Marseille’s best performer at Lorient, 0-2, last Saturday. He was forced off at half-time after a calf knock.

Marseille sit sixth in Ligue 1, two points behind third place, which is held by OL. They hope to climb back onto the podium before the season ends.

Beye and his players have four matches left to achieve it.
