Palmeiras criticise CBF over Flamengo v Fluminense date change | OneFootball

The CBF moved Flamengo’s meeting with Fluminense from Saturday 11 to Sunday 12, prompting Palmeiras to issue an official statement criticising the decision.

Palmeiras said in a statement that it was unhappy with the CBF for granting Flamengo’s request to delay the match by one day, and questioned why only one club has such requests accepted while others face repeated rejections. It also called for impartiality and transparency in decisions that can affect the competition, citing a challenging calendar and logistical difficulties for all clubs.

Flamengo asked to move the fixture due to logistical problems, having been delayed returning from Peru after playing Cusco of Peru in the Copa Libertadores on Wednesday 8.

Fluminense agreed to the swap, and approval was also given by FERJ and the Military Police. The date was then adjusted accordingly.

The match is scheduled for Sunday 12 at 18:00 Brasília time, in the 11th round of the Campeonato Brasileiro.
